RSM Staff Portal - Zoom Links - Teacher Unable to Start the Meeting as Host

Teacher unable to start the meeting as host from the RSM Staff Portal's Attendance Screen
Teacher is  Prompted to The Waiting Room

"Wait for the host to start the meeting" 

Problem Description: 

  • Teacher Starts the Meeting from RSM Staff Portal's Attendance Screen but prompted to the waiting room as a guest or student
  • Teacher copy/pastes the Zoom link to the Google Chrome browser but prompted to the waiting room as a guest or student
  • The teacher is unable to host or start the meeting, prompted to the waiting room as a guest or host.

Possible Cause or Reason:

  • The teacher is not logged in into the Zoom (or Zoom app) on his/her browser with RSM Zoom account credentials (Branch+Room#@RussianSchool.com)
  • The teacher is using an alternative browser (Microsoft Edge, Mozilla, etc.) as the default web browser. 
  • Teacher is logged in into the Zoom Desktop app with personal account
  • The teacher is logged in on Web Browser into the Zoom with a personal account

**Solution:

Option 1:**
1) On the prompt window "Please wait for the host to start this meeting" - Press on "login" link inside the text "if you are the host, please login to start this meeting"
2) Login with Zoom Classroom Login Credentials (Branch+Room#@RussianSchool.com and password) and you should become a host

Option 2:

1) Set the Google Chrome browser as the default browser for web browsing.
2) Visit Zoom website (zoom.us) in Google Chrome browser, and sign in using the Zoom Classroom Login Credentials (Branch+Room#@RussianSchool.com)
3) Open the Zoom desktop application login with Zoom Classroom Login Credentials (Branch+Room#@RussianSchool.com)
4) Start the Zoom class from the RSM Staff Teacher Portal.
5) Copy-paste the Zoom meeting link to the Google Chrome browser's address bar and follow the steps to launch the meeting if necessary.

Still, having trouble to host the Zoom room?

1) See alternative options on how to start the Zoom classes. 
2) Contact RSM Office Staff for Assistance, they could start your class and accept you in in order to make you a "Host"
3) Contact the OnlineSOS Team for assistance and provide the teacher's name, branch, and class details
4) Wait for the OnlineSOS Team to start your class and accept you in and then make you a "Host"
